Château Lussan, situé sur la dernière motte de terre au nord de la Gironde, est un lieu historique de la commune de Pleine-Selve (33820). Il y avait une très grande abbaye à cette époque à Pleine Selve (détruite pendant la guerre de 100 ans), et Lussan était la propriété des moines.
Il fût aussi, plus tard, la propriété de la Famille d’Esparbès de Lussan, famille de noble, et illustre maison de chevallerie. Le château appartient aujourd’hui à la famille Pastureaud, qui poursuit l’exploitation du domaine viticole.
Le blason d’Esparbès de Lussan,représentant les 3 merlettes, date du XIIème siècle, et est aujourd’hui encore associé à l’identité du château.

Château Lussan, located on the last clod of earth north of the Gironde, is a historic site in the commune of Pleine-Selve (33820). There was a very large abbey at that time at Pleine Selve (destroyed during the 100 years war), and Lussan was owned by the monks.
It was also, later, the property of the Esparbès de Lussan family, a noble family, and an illustrious house of chivalry. The castle now belongs to the Pastureaud family, which continues to operate the wine estate.
The coat of arms of Esparbès de Lussan, representing the 3 blackbirds, dates from the 12th century, and is still associated with the identity of the castle today.
